More Grant County households are now eligible for assistance from a food pantry in Cassville. Officials with the Six Rivers Food Pantry say the site is an authorized food distributor in the Emergency Food Assistance Program. They can now provide no-cost groceries for homes that have income up to 300-percent of the federal poverty level. According to a release from the Six Rivers Food Pantry, those who have lost jobs or income may obtain a monthly share from a qualifying pantry – like the one in Cassville. Enrollment is confidential and the pantry will provide food on the day of application. The Six Rivers Food Pantry, located on Amelia Street in Cassville, is open today (and every Wednesday) from 3:30 til 5:30. They also have hours on Saturday mornings from 8 til 9:30.
