On July 4th, 1998, Platteville, WI hosted the first ever Disney “Mickey’s Hometown Parade.” The parade drew over 100,000 people and featured 30 of the Disney floats. The day capped off with a $100,000 display of fireworks atop the Platteville ‘M.’
