Dubuque Police Report Craigslist Scam

The Dubuque Police Department is reporting a Craigslist scam regarding rental properties. Scammers will post pictures of actual rental properties on Craigslist or a website like Craigslist saying it is their property to rent. When the scammers acquire inquiries about the property, they often ask for private information or security deposits before showing the property to a potential tenant. The scammers request the money be sent through methods like Western Union, wire transfer, prepaid credit cards or money order.
