The QueenB Family lost a friend and former co-worker this past weekend.
Brent Johnson, who has done about every job at the radio stations in Platteville, including Program Director and Morning host for Xtreme 107.1, passed away after a battle with Covid-19.
First, we send our prayers to his wife, LaDonna, and three sons, Avery, Fletcher and Barrett. I know, first hand, that the pain from losing your father never goes away, and the best way to honor him is to share stories and remember the lessons he taught.
This one really hurts because Brent was such a good guy, super helpful and always there to support his friend, family and the community.
I feel lucky to be able to call him a friend and I will cherish the memories and laughs in studio as well as the times we were able to enjoy a cold beer together while celebrating after a station event.
Brent left QueenB, after his wife accepted a new job in Minnesota. A year after he was in Minnesota, he came back to see everyone and the staff gave him the autographed Kesha poster from the Xtreme 107.1 studio.
To say Brent loved Kesha would be an understatement so we knew that poster was in it’r rightful home with Brent.
I tried my best to pay tribute to Brent this morning…and of course, the tribute had to include Kesha and a great clip of Brent broadcasting from his own garage.
Rest in peace, my friend, you will truly be missed.
