A rape charge against a Dubuque teen has been dismissed at the prosecutor’s request. The charge of third-degree sexual abuse in the Iowa District Court of Dubuque County was dismissed for 19 year old Jonathan Gomez-Bello. Authorities had alleged that Gomez-Bello sexually assaulted a girl younger than 16 at a Dubuque County residence. However, a motion to dismiss filed by Assistant County Attorney Richard Kirkendall concluded that testimony by witnesses could not prove the allegations beyond a reasonable doubt.
