MADISON, Wis. — A Beloit man was sentenced Friday to four years in prison.
According to a news release, Fabian Jones, 29, was sentenced for being a felon in possession of a firearm.
The release said Jones pleaded guilty to the charge in June.
In March, Beloit police were investigating a reported disturbance and met Jones, who consented to a search of his home.
In his bedroom, police said they found a holster, laser sight for a gun, and a magazine chest carrier, as well as ammunition in the kitchen.
Jones had a previous felony conviction for a weapons offense in Illinois state court.
He was also convicted in federal court in 2015 for distributing cocaine and was sentenced to four years in prison.
