MADISON, Wis. — The Wisconsin Department of Administration says nearly 7 in 10 state employees have received at least one dose of the coronavirus vaccine.
The data comes as 87 percent of executive branch employees have shared their vaccination status with the Department of Administration, as was required late last month. There are more than 30,000 executive branch employees statewide.

Guidance from the Department of Administration on August 23 mandated that employees share their vaccination status, but did not require employees to get the vaccine. Employees are being asked to update their vaccination status on an internal HR system, with those who say they are vaccinated needing to verify that answer by uploading proof of vaccination.
“It’s clear that while we still have room for improvement, the majority of executive branch employees are doing the right thing when it comes to COVID,” Department of Administration Secretary Joel Brennan said in a statement. “Given the ongoing public health threat posed by the Delta variant, we know that vaccination remains our best tool for beating back the latest surge, and I’m grateful for the steps state employees are taking to protect our workforce and the Wisconsinites we serve.”
Statewide, about 55.7% of Wisconsin’s population has received at least one dose of the vaccine, according to the latest data from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services.
