The long-time head of UW-Platteville’s football team announced he’s stepping down. After 23 years of coaching, Mike Emendorfer has retired. He leaves the school with the most wins in UWP football history – compiling an overall record of 112-and-110. Emendorfer led the Pioneers to pair of NCAA Division-3 playoff appearances in 2013 and 2016. In a statement, the university’s athletic department said Ryan Munz will take over as the interim head coach. Munz is a Highland native and has spent the last 16 years as the Pioneers offensive coordinator. The school will launch a national search for a permanent head coach.
