A Clayton County man was fined $430 after pleading guilty to a lesser-included charge in an insurance fraud case. 24 year old Joseph Hansel of Edgewood was given the fine as a sentence in Iowa District Court of Clayton County after pleading guilty to a charge of fourth-degree theft. Hansel initially was charged with insurance fraud-presenting false information, but he pleaded guilty to the lesser-included charge. A report says that Hansel provided false information to an insurance claims adjuster in November 2020 related to a collision involving his vehicle and a parked vehicle.
