The Iowa Supreme Court has ruled it will not review the case of a Dubuque man who was convicted of fatally stabbing his girlfriend in 2015. Reports show 33-year-old Eddie Hicks filed in 2018 to have a new hearing – however that motion was denied by a district court judge and the Iowa Court of Appeals. Late last year, Hicks filed his request with the state supreme court, which also denied him a new trial. Hicks was convicted on a charge of 1st-degree murder after authorities say he stabbed 21-year-old Kahdyesha Lemon more than 100 times during an argument. Hicks previously testified that Lemon attacked him and he acted in self defense.
