One Person Killed, One Person Injured in Jo Daviess County Crash

Authorities in Jo Daviess County say one person was killed and another was seriously injured in a head-on collision Tuesday. 67 year old Kathleen McCall  of Elizabeth was pronounced dead at the scene. 57 year old Ronald Tippett of Galena, taken by ambulance to Midwest Medical Center in Galena and then airlifted to University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison for treatment. According to the Jo Daviess County Sheriff’s Department, McCall was driving east on U.S. Highway 20 approximately a half-mile west of Mitchell Road at about 5:15 p.m. Tuesday when her vehicle crossed into oncoming traffic and struck Tippett’s vehicle head-on. Authorities are still investigating the crash.
