HOLLAND, Mich. — A 19-year-old charged and recently arrested in connection with a deadly shooting outside of a Beloit high school was arrested in Michigan, according to the Holland Police Department.
Amaree Goodall was arrested Wednesday in connection to the parking lot shooting that killed 19-year-old Jion Broomfield on Jan. 29.
Officials with the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to News 3 Now that Goodall is currently being held in the Ottawa County Jail. News 3 Now has requested a copy of his mugshot but has not yet received it.
In an online report, Captain Robert Buursma with HPD said officers arrested Goodall after getting a tip that he was in the Holland area, which is located roughly 30 miles west of Grand Rapids. Police said their investigation led them to believe that Goodall was staying in an apartment building on the northeast side of Holland City.
Authorities had detectives and a tactical team set up in the area to look out for Goodall, and they eventually spotted him in an apartment in the area. Officers then called for Goodall to come out of the apartment. Goodall complied and officers arrested him without incident.

Goodall is expected to appear in the 58th District Court on a future date when he’ll have the option of waiving his extradition rights to be transferred back to Wisconsin or requesting an extradition hearing.
Authorities in Beloit filed charges against Goodall in mid-February. He’s currently facing one charge of first-degree reckless homicide.
Beloit Police Chief Andre Sayles plans to share an update on Goodall’s arrest and the homicide investigation at 1 p.m. Thursday.
