MADISON, Wis. — Quadren Wilson, the man shot by state law enforcement while being arrested on Madison’s far northeast side in February, was sentenced Monday to three years behind bars as part of a plea agreement on drug charges.
Wilson, 38, of Beaver Dam, was also sentenced to three years of extended supervision. He was given credit for 97 days served since his Feb. 3 arrest.
Late last month, Wilson agreed to a plea deal that saw him plead guilty to charges of manufacturing or delivering schedule I or II narcotics and possession of cocaine. As part of the agreement, the state will not issue any more charges against Wilson for offenses that might have happened prior to Monday.

In court Monday, Wilson said he takes full responsibility for his actions and asked Judge Josann Reynolds to be lenient on him so he can be a better parent to his five children.
Reynolds accepted the plea deal “with some hesitation,” warning Wilson “there’s no excuse for you to continue this lifestyle.”
“You’re not getting any younger. If you continue in this conduct, you’re going to be doing a life sentence on a revolving door plan,” she cautioned, “and I don’t think that’s what you want, I’m sure it’s not what your family wants for you and it’s certainly not what your children need.”
Wilson was unarmed at the time he was shot and arrested. In total, 21 law enforcement officers were involved in the arrest, raising questions about the extent of their response. Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation special agents Mark Wagner and Nathan Peskie both fired their guns during the arrest.
