BELOIT, Wis. — A deputy from the Rock County Sheriff’s Office and the occupants of a tow truck suffered minor injuries in a crash between Janesville and Beloit Thursday afternoon, the sheriff’s office said.
The crash happened around 3:53 p.m. at the intersection of E L T Townline Road and South Prairie Avenue near Blackhawk Technical College in the town of Turtle. The sheriff’s office said the deputy was responding to a report of a person with a gunshot wound at the time of the crash.
A news release from the sheriff’s office did not provide further details about the cause of the crash or the incident involving a gunshot wound, but a dispatcher said the gunshot wound case is being handled by the Town of Beloit Police Department.
Police later said a person suffered a gunshot wound following a disturbance in the 3000 block of South Park Avenue just before 3:10 p.m.
