MADISON, Wis. — Wisconsin native Butch Vig of the band Garbage and comedian Charlie Berens are taking the stage this weekend to raise money to fight against epilepsy.
The Joey’s Song Foundation is hosting its ninth benefit concert at 7 p.m. on Saturday at The Sylvee. The foundation was established in 2010 in memory of Joey Gomoll, who suffered from a rare and debilitating form of epilepsy known as Dravet syndrome. Gomoll died just days before his fifth birthday.
“Having Joey’s Song here I think is kind of extra special because when I look out in the audience I’m probably going to know half the people there which is pretty cool,” Vig said.

The concert lineup also includes Portugal. The Man, Dave Pirner from Soul Asylum, Chris Collingwood from Fountains of Wayne and more. It had been scheduled to occur last year but was postponed.
