Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers joined the chairperson of the state’s Public Service Commission, Rebecca Cameron Valcq, on Monday in La Crosse for an ‘Internet for All’ listening session on broadband internet access. The PSC is developing the state’s 5-year plan to get high speed internet to more rural and underserved communities. The commission also wants to make internet access more affordable. Evers has made moves to invest in broadband access since 2019, and his office says more than 390,000 homes and businesses have secured access to the internet, or have improved their internet connection. The governor proposed an investment of $750 million for the Broadband Expansion Grant Program in his biennial budget.
