A specially created roundtable to address ongoing issues between Dubuque’s city government and its business community is starting to make progress in mending that relationship, but local officials say that more work remains to be done. The Dubuque City Council was given its first official update on the progress of the Developers Roundtable since its revival in July. Dave Lyons, facilitator of the roundtable, said that the meetings held between local business owners and city staff have proven productive and have already brought forth changes to city policy. The roundtable was formed after several local business owners and developers submitted a number of letters to the city citing ongoing issues with city staff regarding policies, processes and practices.
