Authorities say a motorcyclist led two Iowa State Patrol troopers on a high-speed chase in Dubuque. 25 year old Cole Jonas of was arrested around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Dubuque Law Enforcement Center on a charge of eluding. A report states that an Iowa State Patrol trooper spotted Jonas operating a motorcycle and weaving through traffic at approximately 2:35 p.m. Tuesday on U.S. Highway 61/151 near the Southwest Arterial interchange. The motorcycle was traveling 97 mph in a 55-mph zone. The original trooper and another trooper began to pursue the motorcycle, which sped away and ran a red light by passing between stopped cars while continuing north on U.S. Highway 61/151. The troopers lost sight of the motorcycle when it crested the hill at the intersection of U.S. Highway 61/151 and U.S. Highway 52 South. Dubuque Police Department officers used traffic camera footage to track the motorcycle to Jonas’ residence on Loras Boulevard.
