A Bellevue man recently sentenced to life in prison on a murder conviction is appealing his case. 58 year old Christoper Prichard was given the mandatory life sentence March 22nd in Iowa District Court of Jackson County after previously being found guilty of first-degree murder in the death of his estranged wife, 55-year-old Angela Prichard. A jury found Christopher Prichard guilty February 13th after a seven-day trial. His attorney, Miguel Puentes, recently filed a notice to the Iowa Supreme Court appealing the verdict and subsequent sentencing. Angela Prichard was found dead of an apparent gunshot wound the morning of October 8, 2022, at Mississippi Ridge Boarding Kennels, the business she operated near Bellevue.
