Water Rescue at Far-Nuff Landing

Two people were transported to Grant Regional Health Center Saturday Afternoon after overturning their boat just off Far-Nuff Landing in what is known as McCartney Lake.  Cassville Fire Chief Ron Hampton said authorities were notified just before 3 pm that a father and son had been in the water for a short period of time and were now on an island about an (8th) 1/8th of a mile from the Landing.  Both were very cold and the son was starting to suffer from exposure. Hampton added prior to the fire department getting to them, an unidentified boater brought them to the Landing.  They were both transported by Cassville EMS to Grant Regional Health Center for evaluation.
