The Ridgeway Marshal’s Office is asking for the public’s help in identifying a motorcyclist that fled from authorities Friday. Around 4:20 p.m., the Iowa County Communications Center received a traffic complaint from the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office that a person in dark clothing riding a black motorcycle was traveling north on U.S. Highway 151 and passed law enforcement at 100 mph. Authorities said the person traveled into Iowa County where they passed the Ridgeway Marshal around 135 mph, weaving in and out of lanes. The Ridgeway Marshal pursued the motorcyclist but stopped at the intersection of Erbe Road and US Highway 151 in Dane County because of the risk to public safety. Dane County law enforcement and the Wisconsin State Patrol saw the person enter Mt. Horeb. Authorities are asking those who believe they know the suspect’s identity to contact the Ridgeway Marshal’s Office through Iowa County Dispatch at 608-930-9500.
