Marklein and Other Lawmakers Approve WEDC Request

State Senator Howard Marklein, Senator Joan Ballweg, and Representative Tony Kurtz voted “yes” today to finish their work on legislation to provide $2 million Campus Community Transition Grants for communities where a University of Wisconsin (UW) System branch campus will no longer be used for academic purposes. The Joint Committee on Finance (JFC) approved the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation’s (WEDC’s) request for the funding and structure in a meeting Tuesday.
