In a statement on his personal X profile, Van Orden says he was assaulted by what appeared to be a member of what he labeled as a “pro-Hamas” group, CODEPINK. Van Orden claimed it was an incident of political violence. He added “people who choose this path should be prosecuted to the greatest extent of the law.” CODEPINK is a feminist antiwar organization. The protester’s name is Nour Jaghama, a Palestinian, and CODEPINK confirms Milwaukee police arrested her. She was released on bail Wednesday morning and has a court date July 31 for a misdemeanor battery charge. A CODEPINK spokeswoman claims it was Van Orden who intentionally bumped into Jaghama while in line.
