Potosi Man Sentenced To Probation For Animal Neglect

A man from Potosi has been sentenced to two years probation for animal neglect. 44 year old Johnny Reed of Potosi received the sentence in Grant County Circuit Court after pleading guilty to three counts of intentionally or negligently providing improper indoor animal shelter ventilation.  As part of his probation, Reed is not allowed to own any animals and must complete 80 hours of community service. Reed was one of three people arrested after a lengthy investigation by the Iowa County Sheriff’s Department. A release stated that during a welfare check at an Iowa County residence, the sheriff’s department and Iowa County Social Services found garbage, glass, animal feces and cockroaches in the home.
