Two people from Iowa were arrested in Prairie du Chien following a traffic stop. On Friday the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle operated by 45-year-old Monica Knockel of Monona, Iowa in Prairie du Chien. Her passenger was 31-year-oldHenry Berns of Garnavillo, Iowa. Prairie du Chein Police Department K9 Phoenix alerted to the presence of controlled substances in the vehicle. Police searched the vehicle and found methamphetamine and methamphetamine paraphernalia. Knockel exhibited indicators of drug impairment and was arrested on charges of operating a motor vehicle with a restricted controlled substance (3rd Offense), possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and obstruction. She was also cited for operating with a suspended driver’s license and an equipment violation. Berns was arrested on charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and obstruction.
