A Dubuque man has been sentenced to two years in prison for a two-county high-speed chase. 31 year old Cortez Williams of Dubuque received the sentence from District Associate Judge Mark Hostager in Iowa District Court of Dubuque County after pleading guilty to one count of eluding — 25 mph or more over the speed limit. Reports say that Dubuque County sheriff’s deputies were notified around 6:28 p.m. on April 21, 2023, of an active vehicle pursuit entering Dubuque County from Jackson County on U.S. Highway 61. The vehicle was being pursued by authorities from Clinton County and the Maquoketa, Iowa, Police Department. Radio traffic from those agencies reportedly indicated that the vehicle was traveling 130 mph in a 65 mph zone.
