On Tuesday just after 11 AM, the Iowa County 911 Center received a call on County Road Q in the Township of Dodgeville in reference to a suspicious bag of white powder in a mailbox. An Iowa County Deputy responded and investigated the substance. Just after noon, the Iowa County 911 Center received another call about a suspicious bag of white powder in a mailbox on East North Street in Dodgeville. A Dodgeville Officer responded and investigated the substance. In both cases law enforcement was able to remove the bag and test the substance. Both bags tested presumptive positive for the presence of fentanyl and cocaine. As a result of the joint investigation, 29-year-old Tyler Marking of Dodgeville was arrested and is being held on a probation hold. Marking was charged with two counts of Felony 2nd Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, 2 counts of Felony Delivery of Cocaine, two counts of Felony Delivery of Fentanyl, Felony Possession of Psilocin, and Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The investigation shows that this was a targeted act and there is no known danger to the greater public.
