On Thursday, the City of Dubuque and consultants from Bolton & Menk held a presentation at Prescott Elementary to discuss the future of the Central Avenue and White Street corridor. Jennifer McCoy, a traffic engineer with Bolton & Menk presented the four design alternatives for the corridor, which were Multi-Modal Focused, Getting To and Sticking Around, Slow and Flow, and Different Roads, Different Roles. Each alternative was evaluated for safety, equity, connectivity, and economic development. McCoy emphasized how any alternative will create flow throughout Dubuque.
The Multi-Modal Focused and Getting to and Sticking Around alternatives received the most votes from residents during the event. Bolton & Menk will be opening an additional survey for community input through November 1. The survey can be found at www.cityofdubuque.org/centralwhite
