A longtime National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium executive will serve as the next director of two local economic development nonprofit groups. Wendy Scardino has been appointed as director of both the Mississippi Driftless Regional Alliance and Dubuque Forward. Scardino spent the past seven years at the museum and Dubuque County Historical Society, serving first as director of marketing and then as vice president of development and marketing. Scardino holds a master of business administration degree from Clarke University and a bachelor’s degree in communications and public relations from the University of Northern Iowa. Dubuque Forward’s website states that the organization aims to facilitate and provide structure to encourage growth in Dubuque.
