East Dubuque man threatens another with baseball bat

Police said an area man threatened another person with a baseball bat in Dubuque. 43-year-old Raymond J. Edwards of East Dubuque, Ill., was arrested at 1:14 p.m. Thursday near the intersection of Fourth and Main streets on charges of going armed with intent, possession of marijuana and interference with official acts. Court documents state Dubuque Police Department officers responded to the area of Fourth and Main streets at about 12:45 p.m. Thursday for a report of a physical disturbance. A review of traffic footage showed Edwards had gotten into a verbal argument with another man. During the altercation, Edwards retrieved a baseball bat from his vehicle and “displayed the bat in an aggressive manner.” Edwards was located by officers in the 300 block of Main Street. the baseball bat and a vape cartridge that tested positive for THC were located in Edwards’ vehicle.
