Police said a Dubuque man who crashed an all-terrain vehicle was arrested after his passenger was seriously injured in the incident. 20-year-old Ayden A. Bries of Dubuque, was arrested just after 6 PM Saturday at Dubuque Law Enforcement Center on a warrant charging serious injury by vehicle. Court documents state authorities responded at approximately 5:18 a.m. on Sept. 22 to Data Court Drive for a report of an ATV accident. Officers found a woman in the grass who was bleeding and unconscious. The woman, who was the passenger on the ATV, was transported to MercyOne Dubuque Medical Center before being transported to University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics for treatment. Documents state multiple witnesses said they saw Bries operating the ATV at the time of the crash. Bries told police he was trying to show off. Bries was also injured in the crash and was transported to MercyOne Dubuque Medical Center following the incident. He was also cited with reckless driving.
