AAA will work to help stranded motorists while trying to keep impaired drivers off the road this holiday season. Tuesday night, the Auto Club Group will activate its Tow to Go program in multiple states including Iowa and Wisconsin. The program offers motorists a ride, and a tow of their vehicle to a safe location within a 10-mile radius of their phone call. The service is free to use for members and non-members of AAA, but should be used as a last resort. Tow to Go is designed as a safety net for people who did not plan a designated driver ahead of time. Tow to Go is active from 6 p.m. Tuesday evening, through 6 a.m. January 2. Motorists in need of a safe ride should call (855)-2-TOW-2-GO.
The Wisconsin State Patrol with law enforcement agencies statewide are running their “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign through New Year’s Day. Officers will work to stop impaired drivers during the holiday season. During the campaign last year, 393 crashes in Wisconsin involved impaired drivers. 12 people were killed and 197 injured.
