Anora dominated the 2025 Oscars, winning five awards, including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Actress for star Mikey Madison. Adrien Brody was named Best Actor for his role in The Brutalist, while Kieran Culkin completed his award season sweep by picking up won Best Supporting Actor for A Real Pain. Zoe Saldaña took home Best Supporting Actress for Emilia Perez. Peter Straughan won Best Adapted Screenplay for Conclave, and Paul Tazewell became the first Black man to win Best Costume Design for Wicked, which also clinched Best Production Design. The Substance earned Best Makeup and Hairstyling. Morgan Freeman paid a heartfelt tribute to the late Gene Hackman during the In Memoriam segment, while the Los Angeles wildfire victims were also honored during the show.
The ceremony, hosted by Conan O’Brien, also featured performances by Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, a tribute to the music of James Bond by Doja Cat, Lisa of Blackpink, and Raye, and a tribute to the late Quincy Jones led by Queen Latifah, Whoopi Goldberg, and Oprah Winfrey.
