MADISON, Wis. — News 3 Now, Klinke Cleaners, the Community Action Coalition and Magic 98 (98.1 FM) are proud to team up for the 36th annual KOATS FOR KIDS winter coat collection. For the past 35 years, area residents have joined together to donate nearly 335,000 winter coats to KOATS FOR KIDS.
Last year, the Community Action Coalition observed a dramatic increase in requests for children’s sized winter coats, with the demand at last year’s KOATS FOR KIDS distribution event far exceeding donations. That’s why we’ve set a new goal – 6000 kids’ winter coats – to meet the projected need in 2021.
WHEN: Monday, September 13 through Saturday, October 9
WHAT: Donate gently-used kids winter coats and accessories – including hats, gloves, scarves, snowsuits and snow pants – to area children in need.
WHERE: Drop off your donations at any area Klinke Cleaners location. Donors are encouraged to take advantage of the limited-contact drive-thru service available at most Klinke Cleaners locations. Locations and hours can be found here.
All donated outerwear will be cleaned FOR FREE by Klinke Cleaners and distributed by the Community Action Coalition For South Central Wisconsin, Inc. on October 28th through 30th. Location and time will be announced as soon as they become available.
