A woman from Dubuque has been sentenced to two years of probation for setting a pile of her girlfriend’s clothes on fire. 30 year old Ashley Marshall was given a deferred judgment in Iowa District Court of Dubuque County after pleading guilty to a charge of reckless use of fire or explosives. With a deferred judgment, if probation and payment obligations are successfully completed, the record of the case is expunged. Dubuque firefighters responded to Marshall’s residence on January 15th and extinguished a small fire on a wood deck outside the residence. The fire caused $700 worth of damage to a pile of clothing. A report says Marshall got into a fight with her girlfriend, 35 year old Sara Kamp the night before. Marshall was still angry at Kemp and set Kamp’s clothing on the deck and set the clothing on fire.
