MADISON, Wis. — The Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office identified a man Wednesday who police said was shot and killed during a home invasion.
James Turner, 35, died after police said he allegedly broke into an apartment in the 1700 block of Packers Avenue on August 26 and was shot. Preliminary autopsy results show that Turner died from firearm-related trauma.
Jose Gomez, 27, who lived in the apartment, allegedly shot Turner. Gomez has not been charged in Turner’s death but does face charges following an investigation into the shooting.
