MADISON, Wis. — A person’s body was found floating in the water on Lake Monona Tuesday evening, the Dane County Sheriff’s Office said.
In a news release Tuesday night, the sheriff’s office said deputies responded to a call of a body in the water shortly after 5:50 p.m. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Few additional details were immediately available, including where on Lake Monona the body was found and whether foul play is suspected, but the sheriff’s office said there is no danger to the community.
The victim’s name has not been released.
