BELOIT, Wis. — Beloit’s search for a new city manager came to an end Monday.
Jerry Gabrielatos was selected for the position, the City Council announced. He will begin work no later than March 1.
“The Beloit City Council truly appreciates the input and support from the community in helping us select the new City Manager,” Council President Regina Dunkin said. “We are confident that with Jerry’s leadership and ability to build relationships, we will aspire to even greater heights!”
Gabrielatos comes to Beloit from West Linn, Ore., where he served as city manager. However, he’s no stranger to the Midwest. He served on staff for members of the Chicago City Council, and was Assistant City Manager and Interim City Manager in Albert Lea, Minn.
“I’m thrilled to be coming to Beloit, such a strong and diverse city,” Gabrielatos said. ““I look forward to working with the Council.”
The council is set to consider Gabrielatos’ employment contract during a meeting Tuesday. He replaces Lori Curtis Luther, who left the position last summer to move to Kansas.
