An Iowa man has been found guilty by a Polk County jury in the 2021 murder of a Grant County woman. 47 year old James Klever of Mount Ayr, Iowa, was convicted of first-degree murder in the death of 30 year old Rachel Reuter of Cassville. A report says that Reuter was reported missing on June 16, 2021. Investigators subsequently found that Reuter and Klever were at an Urbandale, Iowa, motel together and left at about 11:40 a.m. on June 12, 2021. Reuter had not been seen since. Investigators, and both the defense and prosecutors in the trial, stated that Klever killed Reuter at a home in Bondurant, Iowa, on June 13, 2021. Two individuals, including Klever’s son, told investigators that Klever killed Reuter. The son reported that his father told him that he had disposed of her body in Missouri. During the trial, Klever admitted to killing Reuter, saying she had attacked him first, and acknowledged disposing of her body. Klever faces a mandatory sentence of life in prison.
