A Dubuque man has been sentenced to nine days in jail after police said he assaulted his then-girlfriend while displaying a pair of knives. 53 year old Marcus Gordon received the sentence from Iowa District Associate Judge Mark Hostager in Iowa District Court of Dubuque County after pleading guilty to domestic assault while displaying a dangerous weapon and contempt of court. As part of his sentence, Gordon also will serve two years of probation. 48 year old Angela Ward reported on May 19, 2022, that Gordon had assaulted her at their residence. Ward said she and Gordon got into an argument, and she went into her bedroom to lie down. Gordon came into the bedroom and picked up two butcher knives and threatened her.
