On Tuesday just before 10:00 pm, the Grant County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a swimming incident at a private pond in the Township of Marion. It was reported that 21 year old Aaron King of rural Boscobel had been swimming at a private pond on a farm with friends. King began to struggle to stay afloat. The other swimmers attempted to retrieve King and bring him to shore, but were unsuccessful. The swimmers were able to flag down a passerby to notify the Grant County Communications Center. First responders attempted to locate King, but were also initially unsuccessful. King was recovered from the pond by members of the Boscobel Fire Department just after 11pm. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Boscobel Fire, Boscobel EMS, the Boscobel Police Department, and the Grant County Coroner’s Office.
