On Thursday around 9:30am, the Sheriff’s Office was notified of what appeared to be a vehicle crash on Mt. Zion Road about 1 mile east of County Highway K in North Lancaster Township. It was reported there were fresh black marks on the roadway and tire tracks entering the ditch where a vehicle appeared to have struck some trees, but no vehicle was located at the scene. After an investigation, it was determined that a single vehicle lost control while westbound on Mt. Zion Road when it lost control on a slight left hand curve. The vehicle slid into the ditch sideways where it struck a barbed wire fence and small trees. The driver then apparently left the scene with the vehicle without notifying law enforcement. At this time, nothing is known about the vehicle involved or the driver. The vehicle would likely have front end and passenger side damage. The crash likely occurred during the late night hours of July 17th or early morning hours of July 18th. Anyone with information regarding this crash should contact the Grant County Sheriff’s Office or Grant County Crimestoppers at 1-800-789-6600.
