FEMA has announced that Boscobel EMS will receive over $31,000 in federal funding to purchase protective clothing for their volunteer personnel, including protective coats, pants, boots, helmets and gloves. Boscobel EMS personnel respond to hazardous situations involving traumatic injuries such as motor vehicle accidents and farm accidents, as well as calls involving infectious diseases, contagious viruses and bloodborne pathogens on a daily basis. This grant will enhance the safety of their personnel by providing appropriate protective wear. To date, Grant County Fire and EMS departments have received a total of over $147,000 in funding through the AFG program. Additional rounds of awards can be expected over the coming months.
