The Iowa County Sheriff’s Office arrested two men in separate incidents after they reportedly drove over speeds exceeding 100 MPH. On Monday at 3:04 a.m. a deputy in the Town of Arena witnessed a vehicle approaching him westbound on US Highway 14 near Hayward crossing at a high rate of speed. Squad radar indicated speeds of 103 MPH in a 55 MPH zone. Deputy reportedly turned on lights and siren, however the vehicle continued westbound on US Highway 14 at high speeds for approximately three miles before the man reportedly lost control of his vehicle before crashing into the woods. 25-year-old Cameron Lindley of Spring Green was treated and released at the scene by Arena EMS. The vehicle was recovered and the man was transported to the Iowa County jail and awaits bond hearing for vehicle operator fleeing/felony elude an officer. A separate incident occurred on July 12 just before 8 PM where a deputy observed a vehicle at US Highway 14 near Hayward Crossing in the Town of Arena and the man reportedly was traveling eastbound at 72 mph in a posted 55 mph zone. 30-year-old Rashay Williams of Arena sped up to avoid being stopped. Williams reportedly passed four vehicles in a 45 mph no passing zone. The man pulled into a convenience store where he was taken to custody for vehicle operator flee/eluding an officer and felony 2nd degree recklessly endangering safety. The man later posted $2000.00 cash bond No injuries were reported.
