A Dubuque man now faces a federal weapons charge in connection with a local shots-fired incident. 29 year old Datreon Adams has been charged in U.S. District Court of the Northern District of Iowa with one count of unlawful transport of firearms. According to a report, Adams was in possession of a firearm on April 28 despite a prior criminal conviction barring him from owning such a weapon. Adams previously was charged in Iowa District Court of Dubuque County with control of a firearm by a felon in connection with a reported April 28 shooting in the area of Stafford and High Bluff Streets. Shell casings were found at the scene, though police said no injuries or property damage was immediately reported.
