Authorities say a motorist was airlifted following a crash in Jo Daviess County Wednesday. 36 year old Darrin Plowman of Brooklyn, Iowa, was taken by ambulance to Midwest Medical Center in Galena and subsequently airlifted to University of Iowa Health Care Medical Center for treatment of his injuries. A release states that Plowman was driving northeast on North Ferry Landing Road at approximately 4:55 p.m. Wednesday when she lost control of the vehicle at the intersection of West Cross Road. Plowman’s vehicle traveled down a steep embankment and struck some large rocks. Plowman was cited with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, operating an uninsured vehicle, driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while her driver’s license was suspended.
