Cassville Man Going To Prison For Transporting Girls To Engage in Prostitution

A man from Cassville will spend 11 years in federal prison after he transported two teenagers across state lines with the intent to engage in prostitution. U.S. Attorney Timothy O’Shea’s office says 29-year-old Raymond Armour pleaded guilty in July to two counts of transporting an individual in interstate commerce with the intent to engage in prostitution. His prison term will be followed by 20 years of supervised release. Authorities say Armour saw the 14- and 15-year-old victims outside a laundromat in Dubuque in January 2023. He offered to drive the girls to his home in Cassville where they could stay with him. They say Armour took nude pictures of the victims and posted those online, offering various sexual services in exchange for money. He drove the victims around while trying to set up those meetings, but none happened. A report says police in Dubuque received a missing person report for the girls on January 25, 2023 after they left a local shelter. A Walmart security officer reached out to police on February 1, 2023 after he saw the victims in the store with a man, who was identified as Armour. The security officer told authorities she heard Armour tell one of the girls she was beautiful and would “make a lot of money.” Deputies with the Grant County Sheriff’s Office found the victims at Armour’s home on February 3, 2023.
