Tri-state News Sons of slain woman seek reconsideration of dismissal of suit against Bellevue PD

The sons of a slain Bellevue woman are asking a federal judge to reconsider the recent dismissal of a civil suit against an area police department. The attorney for Joshua Close and Colton Hancock, the sons of Angela Prichard, recently filed a motion to alter or amend judgment in response to U.S. District Court Chief Judge C.J. Williams’ Oct. 21 dismissal of a lawsuit levied against the Bellevue Police Department. 54-year-old Angela Prichard, of Bellevue, was shot and killed on Oct. 8, 2022, by her estranged husband, Christopher E. Prichard. Williams last month dismissed the case on a motion by the defendants, writing that the civil complaint failed to “show the defendants’ conduct put (Angela Prichard) at a significant risk of serious, immediate and proximate harm. Dave O’Brien, the sons’ attorney, argued in his recent motion that Williams should reconsider his findings in light of new evidence gathered since the case first was filed.
