At the 56th annual NAACP Image Awards, Kerry Washington’s film The Six Triple Eight and Keke Palmer emerged as big winners. Washington took home the Outstanding Actress in a Motion Picture award and highlighted the extraordinary achievements of Black women, while Palmer won Entertainer of the Year and Outstanding Host in a Reality/Reality Competition. The Wayans family also shined, with Damon Wayans Sr. and Damon Wayans Jr. winning awards for their series Poppa’s House and multiple family members being inducted into the NAACP Hall of Fame. Other winners included Queen Latifah, Method Man, Quinta Brunson, and Martin Lawrence. (UPI)
